Dined on a Tuesday night with family. The lower level with lake frontage offered a great view of the lake and was ideal for younger children away from the noisier upper section. Food was delicious with good sized portions- my chicken Mediterranean salad was fresh and tasty.

I dined at Knots Kitchen several times over the course of my stay at Lakes Resort Hotel. Breakfast each morning as part of our package, and one dinner seated inside the restaurant itself. What stood out immediately was that while this place flies under the radar, it quietly does a lot right. It’s not flashy. It doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. But it leans into simplicity with confidence, and when it gets it right, it really lands. Breakfast (included in our room package) was one of the stronger hotel breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. The variety was generous and thoughtfully curated. Perfectly poached eggs, sautéed spinach, yoghurt with fresh fruit and granola, a solid selection of hot breakfast options (scrambled eggs, hash browns, baked beans, mushrooms, toast), and cold choices like fresh cut fruit, juice, and pastries. Each dish was plated with care and came out looking and tasting fresh. The only downside; and it’s one I kept feeling, was the coffee. A good breakfast should come with a good coffee. Instead, we had pod coffee in the room and had to pay extra at the restaurant for a barista made one. While I understand barista coffee comes at a cost, when the breakfast itself is this strong, it feels like a missing puzzle piece not to have even a single standard coffee included per person. It’s the one detail that kept it from feeling complete. Dinner was casual but well done. I ordered the fish tacos, and I’ll admit, I almost didn’t. The menu listed 'lettuce' as the main filler, which didn’t inspire much excitement. But what came out completely changed my mind. These were flavour packed, crisp tacos with pickled vegetables, coriander, jalapeños, and fresh lime, bright, balanced, with just enough kick. They were cooked perfectly and layered in a way that felt fresh but satisfying. Honestly, they were better than many I’ve had in Adelaide, and I've tried them all. My suggestion? Update the menu to reflect the actual ingredients, not just for taste, but for dietary clarity. Even a photo on the ordering app would help customers know what to expect. It was a fantastic dish that deserves better showcasing. Cocktails were well presented, balanced, and felt considered, not thrown together. I ordered a cherry topped drink and asked a couple of times for the cherries that never arrived. But to a waitress' credit, she eventually brought me a little glass filled with cherries to make up for it. That small act of kindness didn’t go unnoticed, it left a better taste in my mouth than the drink itself. Service like that makes a difference. Knots Kitchen isn’t trying to be a showstopper, but it delivers with ease. The food is fresh, portions are generous, and the service has a relaxed warmth to it. Whether you’re staying at the Lakes Hotel or just passing through, it’s a good spot to start or end your day. If the coffee was included with breakfast, this would’ve been an easy five stars. Until then, a strong four.

We recently celebrated a family birthday for 13 people at Knot’s Kitchen and were blown away by the quality of the food - everyone's dish was delicious, with so many options on the menu I wanted to order. Everything came out at the same time (a huge win for a big group), and the staff were lovely and incredibly accommodating, even helping with candles and a makeshift cake, when my husband forgot one!!! Beautiful setting and views to top it off. We’ll definitely be back!

Return 21/12/25 today for lunch with a large group. Again the service was great. The portions of food on the plate were very large it seemed bigger than last time I was here. I could not finish the serve and asked if I can take it home. Complements to the chefs. Had dinner here tonight. Absolutely amazing place to eat out, the food and the atmosphere at this place is just incredible. Very friendly service and some staff members had shown service excellence. I noted that there was a lot of variety options on the menu to choose from. I arrived at 5.45 pm and waited for other family members to arrive. We got drinks and sat down and talked for a little while. I think this place should be complemented even though our group had a reservation, I overheard several people did come in without a booking when asked if they had a reservation and the person at the counter said it wasn`t a problem, and he accommodated them. After placing our order the meals arrived within 35 minutes, (considering the amount of people this was quick.) Pricing of meals are reasonable for the amount of food presented on the plates.(Portions were over generous) Even though i had the salt and pepper I was unable to finish my plate. There was lots of car parking within the facility with more parking across the road at the shopping center. Would definitely recommend this place to other family members and friends. My wife, daughter and myself decided to spend Valentine's Day lunch at Knots Kitchen and it was well worth it! We managed to secure our favourite Table 25 and the array of menu items was great . The starters of Oysters Natural and Mornay was great as we had a mix of cooked and natural to keep all family members happy. My usual favourite of the Carvery was spot on with a mixture of Beef and Pork and roast vegetable to die for! My daughter enjoyed the Poke Bowl as she is a Japanese foodie and the Catch of the day, Barramundi suited my wife just right!! We really enjoyed the ambience but sadly could not make the dessert array!! A big thank you to Trevor and his team for making our lunch special as always!! We'll be back!!!!
